Are We Prepared for the Big One? 7.0 Earthquake
No…But we are working on it.
Last summer, Salt Lake City Corporation asked each Community Council to partner with the LDS Church in the council area for Emergency Preparedness.
B.H.C.C. and the L.D.S. Church have been working together to present this concept to the community.
There will be two meetings, you may attend one or both.

Q & A
On January 17, 2010 the Deseret News published an article titled, “7.0 Earthquake: If the big one hits Utah’s Wasatch front.” This article describes the devastation that will occur including being homeless and without power, water, sewer, and phone service. Bob Carey, Earthquake Preparedness Director for the Utah Division of Homeland Security is quoted as saying, “Police and firefighters would likely be overwhelmed in a 7.0 quake, and neighbors will likely need to depend on each other for help for the first hours and days. That is why the state has encouraged neighborhoods to form Community Emergency Response Teams.”
Please come to learn how we can make our community be better prepared for any emergency. For additional information please visit the Bonneville Hills Community Council website at: www.BonnevilleHills.org. or Ellen Reddick 801.581.0369
