This issue has
generated a great deal community over the last two years. The surrounding
community councils are actively involved in dealing with this issue.
If you are interested in detailed information, please come to our
January meeting. Lisette Gibson from the Yalecrest Community Council
will bring us up to date and answer our questions.
Neighborhood
Crime Watch
The Crime Watch committee could use more volunteers and would like
to know how many residents in the area have been through CERT training.
Please contact John Bushnell at 581-0221 or e-mail benz280e@yahoo.com.
Traffic
Committee Update
The Traffic and Beautification Committee is working with the Salt
Lake City Transportation Dept., an independent traffic consultant,
and residents to impact traffic flow and speed.
The studys
focus is pedestrian safety and foot traffic flow. It has been proven
that when an area is designed from a walkers standpointwith
safety and beautification in mindthe area becomes safer for
all types of traffic flow.
If you have
suggestions or would like to be on the committee, please contact
Connie Baranowski at 582-8005 or barski@aros.net.
Block
Captains
We have almost accomplished our goal of a Block Captain per street.
Block Captains are important to the community and the success of
many activities and programs. Please let Ellen or Toni know if you
would like to be a Block Captain.
Adopt A Crosswalk? What a great idea!
Residents sponsor the orange flags you see at the crosswalks in
our area. It takes a little bit of time, a small amount of money
and dedication to do this service for others (especially children).
Thanks to everyone, that does this good deed.
If you would
like to sponsor and participate in the Adopt A Crosswalk program,
please call Dan Bergenthal at 535-7106.
Maybe 1900
East and St. Marys could use a sponsor. Could that be you?
